Politically Speaking

Throughout the Bible we find the people of God in contact with governing officials and authorities. Paul the Apostle of Jesus Christ had several opportunities to interact with prominent officials. What is the relationship between the sacred and the secular; the spiritual and the political?

God the Creator has a plan for your life. Most people go through life trying to figure out what life is all about and live with frustration. How can you learn of God’s plan? Ask Him. “What shall I do, Lord?” (Acts 22:10, NASB).

A personal testimony is a powerful form of persuasion in our world. In our message today we will study Paul’s spiritual story, his testimony. What is your story of relationship to Jesus and are you telling it?

The Power of "We"

On several occasions in the book of Acts the story becomes a first person story. Luke, the author of the book, becomes a traveling companion of Paul. He tells the story from the perspective of “we.” A church family is always a story of “we.”

CareNow

Joining the Church means joining the mission of furthering Kingdom of God in our community. For many of us that mission has been replaced by so many other missions in this world.

Today we return to a series of messages from the book of Acts. Over the last two summers we have made our way chapter by chapter through this historic record of the early church. It is the story of God at work in His world to accomplish His purposes. We find that God does that work through people. One of those people was a mature disciple named Mnason.

We live in challenging times. God is looking for those who are up to the challenge. The Bible says, “The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Chronicles 16:9, NLT). God found such a person in Noah.

Is life difficult for you today? Some days we find ourselves in the valleys of life. Psalm 23 will help us through our valleys and teach us to make the most of such times.

Staying Faithful to the End

Jude is an appropriate introduction to the book of Revelation. It tells what the world will be like for believers in the days leading up to the end of time. It also tells believers how to live well for God in such troubled times. How are we to stay faithful to the end?

Defending the Faith

Today we begin a study of the little book of Jude. Its message speaks to troubled times and the believers who live for Christ in such times. What must we do to defend the faith?
