Acts 2 Devotion

In Acts 2 we find a church where the believers were radically devoted to Jesus Christ, His people, and His mission. Today we will explore biblical devotion and find Acts 2 devotion being taught and modeled by Jesus Himself.

Today we launch out on a three year journey of faith under the theme “Acts 2 Devotion.” What are you looking for in a church? What is a church supposed to be? What does it mean to be a church? People come up with plenty of answers to those questions. If we are going to define the church it is wise to see what the Bible says about it. What does a church look like when it is fully functioning like the church did in Acts 2?

What would you hope your relationship with God would come to reflect by the end of this new year? What spiritual growth goals are you setting? Today we will look at some key steps to becoming more like Christ.

Reflecting on 2013

God's Plan for your life is not found in a check list of doing things. His plan for your life is discover and live out the Gospel every single day you wake up.

Our aim this morning is briefly to touch on the question, “WHY?” Why did Jesus Christ come into the world? Rather than just voice our opinions, let’s see what the Bible says.

The Savior's Mission

Christmas is the story of God becoming flesh. Why did Jesus come? What was His purpose, His mission? Today we explore the reason for the season.

Just the Right Time

Timing is important in the events of our lives and in the flow of history. The Bible tells us at just the right time God sent His Son. That represents the miracle of the moment in the hands of God. What does it mean for us?

This season between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a time to focus on our blessings from God and sharing those blessings with others in Jesus’ name. May our love for Christ turn our hearts outward to the world around us. Visit: ForgottenChristmas.org.

Paul calls on the Colossian Christians to remember who they are and what they have because of Christ’s wondrous work of grace and truth. May we be ever thankful for the wondrous work that Christ is doing in our lives. Today we will explore this truth.

Seven Marks of a Praying Church

The early church was known as a praying people. We will do more than talk about prayer this morning. At the end of each section of the sermon, we will have a directed time of prayer. May God grow us to be a praying people.
