Lest We Forget

We too easily and too often forget God and forget His word. Forgetting has serious consequences. The Lord’s Supper is God’s gift to us, a call to remember His great love and grace in Christ Jesus.

This Is Us

Today we celebrate the 139 Anniversary of the founding of FBC Allen. This morning we’ll take about who we are as a community of believers.

Determining Who Is In Charge

Today we look at the last of the nine fruit of the Spirit. A lot of people could be described as control freaks. The truth is we can’t control our circumstances and we can’t control other people. The one place we can exercise control as Christ-followers is in the area of self-control.

The Mighty Meek

In a world more known for being loud, sarcastic, angry, and prideful, the spiritual fruit of gentleness (meekness) is in short supply. What does gentleness look like in the life of a Christ-follower?

Old Faithful

In a world that seems so unstable and unreliable, it’s good to find people you can count on and trust. Faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit. What does a life look like when faithfulness is being lived out.

Goodness

“Goodness” is a fruit of the Spirit. What does “good” look like? There are plenty of inferior definitions. Today we’ll find our definition in God’s word and find application for living a life of Christlike goodness.

Building a Life of Kindness

When we think of kindness we often think of "being nice". Being nice is a part of kindness but biblical kindness is so much more. This morning we are going to talk about how we can build a life of kindness; kindness that is a result of being a follower of Jesus.

Wait And Watch...Patiently

This morning we address the next of the fruit of Spirit from Galatians 5. As with the other expressions of spiritual fruit, this one is most often developed through life experiences that test it and refine it. Patience doesn’t come to us naturally. It is a gift from God developed in the laboratory of life.

Peace

Peace – it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Choose Joy

Today we continue our walk through the fruit of the Spirit with a focus on joy. What is joy? Where does it come from? What does it look like when we have it?
