Failure Guidebook for Dummies

Today we continue our series of Old Testament Profiles with the story of Samson. Samson is one of the most familiar heroes and one of the most tragic in all the Bible. Samson could write a book on how to live poorly and fail in relationship to God and others.

Life Happens

Today we share the story of Ruth. It’s a story of a family. In every family there are times of celebration and there are times of struggle. Ruth’s example will help us when “life happens.”

The Lord is My Shepherd

Today we continue our series on Bible heroes with David. He is the most often mentioned character in the Bible. More is written about David than any other biblical personality. Rather than choose just one event from David’s colorful life to study today, we will instead explore the greatest relationship of his life. David said, “The Lord is my shepherd.”

Our children are growing up in a dangerous world. It’s scary to turn them loose in it. The stakes for parents is high. It is not just helping them through the everyday challenges of relationships, education, and activity. Eternity hangs in the balance. God has given us a high accountability for the children He entrusts to us.

When the World is Upside Down

Crisis comes. The explosion in West and the storms and loss of last week brought that lesson home to us all once again. How should we respond when our world is turned upside down?

Choosing Your Future

Today we recognize our graduating high school seniors. For our graduating seniors and for all of us, life is defined by our choices. It is important that we learn to choose well – even when it’s hard.

Heaven

What is the current heaven like? What are people in heaven thinking and doing right now. Come discover some interesting hints at the activity of those who have preceded us in the Lord.

Today we conclude our message series from the Sermon on the Mount. Each of us lives our life based on some foundation, some worldview, some set of values. What are you building your life on? Will it last? Is it eternal? Is it from God?

Jesus is recorded as saying some hard things in the gospels. They are sometimes hard to understand and sometimes hard to swallow. Perhaps nothing Jesus taught is harder than the teaching we will study today. Is it really possible to be good, religious, respectable – and completely miss relationship to God and eternity in heaven? Jesus says, “Yes.”

Prayer-Just Ask

Our study of Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount again addresses the topic of prayer. Why? Jesus focuses on prayer again because we need to give it extra attention. We don’t pray often or as we should. We give it far less attention than it deserves. Today’s Bible verses are an invitation to the greater blessings of prayer.
