In the matters of grace, where do you need to hand the authority over to God? Is there someone you need to talk to? Is there a broken relationship? Is there hate in your life? Are you struggling with things you have done in your past? Are you judging others?
The Bible encourages us to “speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19, NASB). Today our Hot Potatoes series takes us into the place of music in church. We will celebrate God’s gift of song.
Suffering is not measured by SIZE. Suffering can be as simple as a sore throat or a complex as cancer. Suffering is that which irritates you and presses against you in the opposite direction from which you would like to go. Suffering is not fun, not to be desired and never feels good whether the impact is physical, psychological or spiritual. The great question regarding SUFFERING is not “How can I escape it?” but “Am I really willing to lay this before the Lord AND DISCOVER His intended purpose?”

What does a new year hold for you? Some things we can count on and other things may come as a surprise. What if Jesus returned in 2011? What would your life look like this year if each day was lived with such a possibility in mind?
This is a season of Thanksgiving. We are thankful for God’s blessings to us as a church. We have things to be thankful to God for in our individual lives as well. Today we see key elements of the nature of God, common to us all, that should call forth thankful hearts.
Where does real joy come from? Does it come from what we have – our stuff? Does it disappear because of what we do not have? Philippians is the most “joy-filled” book in the Bible and Paul shows us the source of a joy that cannot be shaken.

At the end of this morning’s activities we will join together outside for a time of prayer and groundbreaking for the new children’s building.
