Legacy 2030

Legacy 2030 is First Baptist Allen’s vision to boldly follow God’s leading in three key areas: Missions, Media, and Ministries. This is not a five-year plan. It’s a call to action now, with a clear destination, to faithfully pursue the call God has given First Baptist Church Allen and celebrate all that He will accomplish by the beginning of 2030. Rooted in the Great Commission, we aim to pass on a legacy of faith, obedience, and Spirit-led leadership to the next generation.

We’re asking every member to pray, give, and serve as we step forward together for the glory of Christ.

Below are the three key areas we will focus on leading up to the year 2030.

Missions: Reaching People, Near and Far

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

Missions has long been a deep strength of First Baptist Allen. From our local food pantry and ESL ministry to our international trips and disaster relief efforts, we’ve seen God work powerfully through the obedience of His people. These ministries have not only met practical needs but also sparked spiritual growth in those who serve. Many of our church’s strongest leaders have been shaped through firsthand mission experiences, both at home and abroad.

As we look toward 2030, we believe God is calling us to build on this foundation and to bring the next generation with us. We want to be intentional in including young adults, students, and families in the work of missions. Our “y’all come / we go” strategy reflects the dual call of the church: to invite people in through events like VBS, and to go out to where people already are. We’re currently exploring new partnerships with schools and organizations like Texans on Mission to help us think creatively and respond to real needs in our community.

Internationally, we are praying toward a long-term partnership in one specific region of the world where we can invest deeply and return consistently over the next several years. While we will continue to serve in multiple locations, this focused strategy will help us build relationships, plant gospel seeds, and witness sustained growth over time. Our prayer is that, by the beginning of 2030, we’ll be able to look back and celebrate how God used our church locally and globally to make Him known.

How We Live the Mission(2030):
• Meet real needs in our city through ministries like the food pantry, ESL, and school partnerships.
• Join or support international trips as we invest in long-term partnerships around the world.
• Invite students and young adults to lead and serve in local and global mission efforts.
• Practice a “y’all come / we go” mindset, both welcoming people in and intentionally going where they are.

Ways to Participate:
GO – Join a local or international mission trip.
GIVE – Support missions financially through your faithful giving.
INVITE – Help lead or promote outreach in your circles.
• SERVE – Volunteer with our food pantry or partner ministries. (ESL, Food Pantry, AISD Study Buddies)

Media: Communicating the gospel clearly—in the room and around the world

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10

Our sanctuary’s A/V system hasn’t been significantly updated in over 25 years, and many parts are now outdated, failing, or incompatible with newer technology. We’ve reached a point where temporary fixes are no longer enough. It’s time to make a full investment in the tools that support our worship gatherings, both in person and online.

This is not about flash or performance. It’s about removing distractions and making sure every person in the room and every person watching from home can clearly hear the Word, fully engage in worship, and experience the presence of God without barriers.

We believe that offering our best to the Lord includes thoughtful stewardship of sound, video, lighting, and stage design. A refreshed and functional stage will also enable better space planning for our choir, worship team, and future ministry needs, creating an environment that supports both aesthetics and functionality in our gatherings.

Planned Upgrades:
Full overhaul of A/V (soundboard, speakers, video, wiring, online production).
Stage and backdrop redesign.
Expansion of sound booth for visibility and functionality.
Online streaming enhancements (additional camera, HD upgrades).

We will provide regular updates on the project's progress to keep the church informed and celebrate each milestone.

Ways to Participate:
GIVE – Use the “Legacy 2030” option in online giving; pray about giving sacrificially or becoming a lead donor.
PRAY – Ask God to provide generously through His people.
SHARE – Let others know why this matters and invite them to support.

Ministries: Building Up the Body for Every Generation

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” – Philippians 2:4

God is moving in our ministries across all ages and life stages. From preschool to senior adults, men and women, families and singles, we see lives being changed and people growing in faith. But even with this momentum, two areas need focused attention: expanding our young adult ministry and prayerfully seeking God’s person to lead our music ministry.

Young adults, both single and recently graduated, are vital to the future of our church. While we have a strong start with a Bible Fellowship Group, we’re committed to creating more opportunities for connection, leadership, and ownership in the life of the church. At the same time, we continue to wait and pray for the right music minister, trusting God’s timing to provide a leader who will shepherd our music ministry with humility and excellence.

Looking ahead, we’re also exploring a ministry residency program in partnership with Criswell College. This would enable us to develop future ministry leaders within our church by providing them with hands-on experience in real church life and service. Through all of this, we aim to be a church that loves and invests in every generation, equipping believers and passing the faith forward with purpose and joy.

 Immediate Ministry Focuses:
• Join us in prayer for God’s choice for our next music minister.
• Restructure staff roles to strengthen discipleship under current leadership.
• Invest in young adults and singles through expanded budget, staff, and connection points.
• Develop a ministry residency pipeline with Criswell College.

Ways to Participate:
PRAY – Specifically for music minister hiring and young adult growth.
SERVE – Plug into a ministry team or mentor a young adult.
LEAD – Consider becoming part of the young adult leadership.

Join us Wednesday nights this fall from 6:30–7:20 p.m. in the Worship Center as we begin our Legacy 2030 journey with corporate prayer. Together, we’ll seek God’s heart for our church, our community, and the mission ahead.

Our first gathering kicks off on August 20, focusing on the three key areas of Legacy 2030.
